Detailed Description
Over the Rind began with a suggestion from a friend of the Vale, TheCincinnatiPiper on YouTube. After enjoying the deep, smoky citrus character of Wild Orange, he tried adding a touch of Custard Conspiracy and suggested I give the combination a try.
He was onto something.
Over the Rind takes the familiar foundation of Wild Orange, smoky Latakia, naturally sweet Virginia Flake, smooth Black Cavendish, Perique spice, and bright citrus character, and rounds it out with a softer, richer creaminess.
The result is a blend that moves easily between smoky, citrusy, creamy, and lightly spiced, with the custard-like sweetness softening the sharper edges and giving the bowl a long, satisfying finish.
This is a small-batch, limited-time release, created from a bit of experimentation, a good recommendation, and one very enjoyable bowl.
