Silent Spire Left Me Searching for Words | C&D Summit Series Review

Cornell & Diehl has returned to the Summit Series with Silent Spire, a traditional Navy Plug crafted from whole-leaf Red Virginias and cased with dark rum, and this was one of those blends that was surprisingly difficult to put into words. There is a tremendous amount of depth and warmth here. The Virginias slowly unfold as the bowl progresses, bringing a deep natural sweetness alongside tangy dark citrus, warming spice, rich molasses, but that dark rum character was missing for me. It’s complex and comforting without becoming ordinary. This is a tobacco that rewards slowing down and actually paying attention to the bowl. Join me in the Vale as I rub down this tobacco, light up a bowl, and try my best to describe everything I’m experiencing with C&D Silent Spire. If you’re a Virginia or Navy Plug smoker, this is absolutely one worth checking out. Smoky Vale Pipe Tobacco “Every draw, a journey.”
